Cycling

Haumoana School promotes cycle safety with an annual cycle safety programme for the Senior Syndicate which runs in Term 4. Year 6 children also learn safe cycling skills at the Sports Park.


In addition to this programme, some children have tackled the 
  • Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge Relay (40km)
  • The Tour of the Bay (10/20 km) 
  • Hawke's Bay Schools Cycling Championships
  • North Island School Cycling Championships
  • CHB Primary School Cycling Championships
  • Cyclocross Competitons
  • USO Relay
Some of these competitions are aimed at Year 7/8 children but Haumoana children have competed very successfully against the older age groups.
