Week 6

Week 5 in review. . .
Well done Room 6 children (and parents) for your efforts in tackling the "Taradale Terror" adventure race on Friday evening.  It looked like a lot of fun.

Thanks to Andrea and Paula for their help with the sausage sizzle at School on Sunday.

This week:

  • Mid Term assembly this week takes place on Wednesday along with 'Strike Percussion' workshops.
  • North Island Cycling Champs take place in Taupo on Friday  and 6 children from the class will be competing.
  • The Book Fair is set up at school  - children will have the opportunity to check out the latest in children's books.
  • The Literary Challenge has been postponed due to the Principals Conference.
  • Selected children will be sharing their origami skills with Room 3 children on Monday afternoon.
In maths we will be working on multiplication and division skills. Remember to check out e-ako and the 'basic facts pathway' to help with your understanding.

In language we will be investigating 'root' words and looking at Latin and Greek derivatives as well as continuing with procedural writing. We will also be using www.mindmup.com to share our understanding of new vocabulary.
